About Simon
Simon van d'Abdijhoeve is a dark bay BWP gelding, born in 2018 and bred by Hugo Boelens. He is a son of the well-known stallion Canturano I and is out of Prada van d'Abdijhoeve, who descends from Air Jordan Alpha Z.
Sporting Career
Under the saddle of Peter Boelens, he competes at CSIYH1 level (international young horse competitions). In 2024, Simon reached a height of 1.30m in competition, demonstrating his scope and carefulness on the jump.
Dam's line
Simon's dam line is as impressive as his sire line and plays an important role in his genetic potential. His dam, Prada van d'Abdijhoeve, is a daughter of Air Jordan Alpha Z, a stallion who has achieved legendary status in both sport and breeding. The dam's line also contains connections to leading showjumping horses, such as the legendary Equipharma Dax van d'Abdijhoeve, who won gold at the World Young Horse Championships in Lanaken in 2010 and later jumped successfully at 1.50m level with Pieter Devos.
Air Jordan Alpha Z, Prada's sire, had an impressive career in international show jumping. His highlights include victories in the Grand Prix of Deauville, Valkenswaard and Arezzo, and second place in the 2007 World Cup Final in Las Vegas. As a breeding stallion, Air Jordan Z passed on his power, explosiveness and reliability to his offspring.
