About Oma
Oma van de Vrombautshoeve is a mare born in 1998 and registered with the SBS (Selle Belge). She belongs to the BWP Prestatiestam 02, Asteria line, a line known for producing top horses. With a pedigree of Karioka del Follee x Ut Fata x Fleuri du Manoir x Ritmeester van het Soete Waas, Oma combines a powerful genetic base with an impressive career and legacy in breeding. Her withers height and compact conformation were more than compensated by an excellent mentality, carefulness and technique on the jump.
Sporting Career
Oma van de Vrombautshoeve began her career in sport with promising achievements:
National Champion as a 4-year-old.
Successful in young horse competitions as a 5- and 6-year-old.
Highlight: Win as a 6-year-old at Jumping Mechelen, a prestigious Belgian show.
She performed consistently up to a height of 1.30 metres, where she achieved numerous victories and places of honour. From 2006/2007, she was used as a broodmare after a successful sporting career.
Sire line
Karioka del Follee, Oma's sire, was a leading stallion. He combined the jumping qualities of Bon Ami with a solid dam line. Under Peter James and later Philippe Lejeune, Karioka achieved international success:
- 12th place at CHIO Aachen.
- 2nd and 3rd place at the Belgian Championships.
He was a versatile stallion with exceptional scope and a workmanlike character, traits he passed on to his offspring, including Oma.
Dam's line
- Grandma's dam, Flora van de Vrombautshoeve, is a daughter of Ut Fata, a French stallion with strong influences from Ibrahim's performance bloodlines. Flora herself performed to a height of 1.20 metres, but had to go to breeding early due to an accident. Flora comes from a strong dam line with several international successes:
- Orlandia van de Vrombautshoeve (Flora's half-sister) performed under Lieven de Vos and was later sold to French rider Hubert Bourdy.
- Jarmen van de Vrombautshoeve (Lys de Darmen) achieved several Grand Prix victories with Ludo Philippaerts.
- Mast van de Vrombautshoeve (Pachat II) won the European Championship for five-year-olds at Zangersheide and was later successfully ridden by Ludo Philippaerts.
Further back in the line we find Asteria, the foundation dam. Asteria was a successful jumper in the 1980s and achieved:
- Provincial Champion of East Flanders in the LRV.
- Numerous victories in class Zwaar up to 1.35m.
